2020 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship

Riverdale Park Arts and The University of Maryland School of Music is pleased to announce that violinist Abby Wuehler, student of Irina Muresanu, is the recipient of the 2020 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship. The internship is sponsored by Riverdale Park Arts in a partnership with both the Prince George's Philharmonic and the School of Music. Abby will be participating in the Prince George’s Philharmonic’s spring concert series as a member of the violin section. She was chosen by a committee consisting of Robert DiLutis, SOM Community Engagement Director, Rita Sloan and the administrators of the Prince George’s Philharmonic. Abby is a first-year master’s student studying Violin Performance. She completed her undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at Utah State University under the direction of Rebecca McFaul and the incredible Fry Street Quartet. She was an active participant in the symphony and chamber music programs at USU, and she loved the countless opportunities to expand her musical knowledge there. In the spring of 2018, Abby was a soloist with the USU Symphony Orchestra in their annual Concerto Evening concert, and she attended the National Orchestral Institute in the summer of 2019. Abby is enjoying her time so far at the University of Maryland and looks forward to more wonderful experiences there.
