12th Annual Riverdale Park ArtsFest (2019) will be held from Noon – 6 p.m., Saturday, July 6 at Riverdale Park Station
RIVERDALE PARK, MD. -- From stained glass and original oil paintings to hand-made jewelry and author signings, ArtsFest 2019 has it all! The 12th annual ArtsFest, sponsored by the Riverdale Park Arts Council (RPAC) and the Town of Riverdale Park will be held this year on Saturday, July 6, 2019, from Noon to 6 p.m., at the Riverdale Park Station located at 4595 Van Buren Street, Riverdale Park, MD (20737).
Once again, ArtsFest is expected to draw hundreds of people to enjoy several dozen local artists selling their own original arts, crafts, and books, a Children’s Pavilion featuring gardening crafts and face painting for the you and young at heart, and free, day-long concerts featuring blues, rock, and classical musicians, dance and poetry.
The event is funded by the Town of Riverdale Park and sponsored by the Riverdale Park Arts Council (RPAC). This will be the first time the event will be held at Riverdale Park Station.
“Needless to say, the RPAC Board of Directors is excited about this year’s event,” said RPAC board president Rev. Samuel Williams, Jr. “We cannot thank the management team of Cushman and Wakefield enough for allowing the event to be held on their property and for their contributions towards our efforts, we praise the Riverdale Park town fathers and administration for their undying fiscal support and we make the promise to the vendors who register a solid event at which to display their work.”
The headline band for this year’s Artsfest will be Smokin Polecats who will take the stage at 3 p.m. For the first time ever, there will be a magic act performance at 2 p.m.

The 12th annual ArtsFest, sponsored by the Riverdale Park Arts Council (RPAC) and the Town of Riverdale Park will be held this year on Saturday, July 6, 2019, from Noon to 6 p.m., at the Riverdale Park Station located at 4595 Van Buren Street, Riverdale Park, MD (20737).
Once again, ArtsFest is expected to draw hundreds of people to enjoy several dozen local artists selling their own original arts, crafts, and books, a Children’s Pavilion featuring gardening crafts and face painting for the young… and young at heart, along with food vendors and a free, day-long concert featuring blues, rock, and classical musicians, dance and poetry.
There are 30 tent slots available to vendors varying from promoting jewelry, handcrafted goods, clothing, and other variety of goods as well as to artists promoting their paintings and authors promoting books. The cost for vendors is $90. The cost per vendor has increased because of change in our site venue.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Per the site change, all tents MUST BE NATIONAL FIREMAN PROTECTION ASSOCIATION 701-CERTIFIED (NFPA-701). All tents MUST be 10 x 10 in size or the inspectors, who will conduct on-site inspections the morning before the event, will not allow you to vend. Thanks to the Hyattsville CDC, if your tent does not meet the NFPA standard (no other standard will be accepted), we can arrange to have tents available at a reasonable fee that will meet the burden of inspection. All tents are required to be weighted down. There will be no electrical outlets available and no generators are permissible.
