2023 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship

Congratulations Ayocuan Pacheco!

​​Riverdale Park Arts and ​The University of Maryland School of Music is pleased to announce that violinist and violist Ayocuan Pacheco, is the recipient of the 2023 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship. The internship is sponsored by Riverdale Park Arts in a partnership with both the Prince George's Philharmonic and the School of Music. Ayocuan will be participating in the Prince George’s Philharmonic’s spring concert series. He was chosen by a committee consisting of Robert DiLutis, Rita Sloan and the administrators of the Prince George’s Philharmonic. Ayocuan is currently studying Viola Performance to achieve a Master in Music Performance under Dan Foster at the University of Maryland and is currently studying violin under Zino Bogachek. He graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Violin and Viola Performances under Ann Miller on violin and Igor Veligan on viola. During his education, he has taken every year to perform in chamber class and has taken master classes from the American Quartet, Miró Quartet, and many more, including Chee-Yun, where he has attended the Chee-Yun and Friends chamber music festival for the last 5 years and has played principal viola in the orchestra. He has taken leadership at his alma mater as concert master, assistant concertmaster, principal second violin, and principal viola from 2020–2021. He even performed in the violin sections of the Londontowne Symphony and Zion Chamber Orchestra in 2020 and 2021. Pacheco, a native of Stockton, California, has taken advantage of opportunities to perform all over the DMV area because of the lack of musical opportunities in his hometown.
