2025 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship
Congratulations Jing Fan!
Riverdale Park Arts and The University of Maryland School of Music is pleased to announce that violinist Jing Fan, is the recipient of the 2025 Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship. The internship is sponsored by Riverdale Park Arts in a partnership with both the Prince George's Philharmonic and the School of Music. Jing will be participating in the Prince George’s Philharmonic’s spring concert series. She was chosen by a committee consisting of Robert DiLutis, Rita Sloan and the administrators of the Prince George’s Philharmonic.
Fan is currently studying violin performance under Professor David Salness at the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition to studying a Bachelor's of music, she is completing a bachelor's of science in general biology. She prepared a full length quartet recital and performed for the Takac quartet with her colleagues. She worked on a project with the Arts Amplification program at UMD to bring music to local hospitals as part of her special interest in outreach and has since continued to volunteer in their Emergency Department. She was assistant conductor at the Columbia youth orchestra and a coach for the Peabody chamber music camp. She is a certified emergency medical technician and intends to apply for medical school in the future.
